St. John Joseph of the Cross (1654-1734)
John Joseph’s mortification allowed him to be the kind of forgiving superior intended by St. Francis. Self-denial should lead us to
charity—not to bitterness; it should help us clarify our priorities and make us more loving. St. John Joseph is living proof of
Chesterton’s observation: "It is always easy to let the age have its head; the difficult thing is to keep one’s own" (G. K. Chesterton,
Orthodoxy, page 101).

Forty Hours Devotion

Holy Rosary Parish has scheduled its annual Forty Hours Devotion for March 8-10. Father John Hollowell will share his “Reflections
of a Novice Priest in the Year of the Priest” during his sermons at the 6:30 pm Mass each day. The Forty Hours Devotion, introduced
into Rome by St. Philip Neri in 1548, is the collective adoration of the exposed Eucharist for a continuous period of forty hours, in
honor of the time Our Lord spent in the tomb. Please feel free to visit the Blessed Sacrament after you drop off your children, or come
early before pick-up.

Headmaster
Lumen Christi Catholic School

Lumen Christi Catholic School, a small independent K-12 school adjacent to Holy Rosary Church in downtown Indianapolis, is
seeking a Headmaster.  Lumen Christi was established in 2002 to teach the unity of faith and reason through the traditions of the
Church, including daily Mass, and a classical curriculum.  As the school’s leader, the Headmaster ensures the spiritual, moral and
educational growth of our students while promoting the institutional growth of the school and managing its administrative functions.
The school seeks an individual of authentic Catholic faith and commitment to Catholic education and the mission of Lumen Christi.
He/she should have strong leadership ability; fundraising and development expertise; excellent management skills; the ability to be
an effective representative for the school; and vision to achieve long-range plans.  Expertise in education and educational
leadership, ideally including experience in Catholic school administration, is preferred.

Interested candidates are invited to contact Bob Collins, Search Committee Chairman, Lumen Christi Catholic School, 580 Stevens
St., Indianapolis, IN 46203, or at search@lumenchristischool.org.  The deadline for applications is April 9.
