History of the School
Lumen Christi Catholic School was founded in 2002 to offer Catholics a traditional education
based on excellent academics and faith formation. In 2007, the K-8 school extended its mission
to include a co-educational high school in order to form young adults in truth and virtue. The
school fills the classrooms of the old Latin school, on the grounds of Holy Rosary Parish in
downtown Indianapolis. Lumen Christi Catholic High School’s academic program is permeated
by Catholic principles and prepares our graduates for their vocation in college and life.
Students
The average class size in the high school is six students. The average teacher to student ratio is 1:
4. Students participate in club sports such as basketball and rowing, organizations such as the
Archdiocesan Pro Life Youth Council, and in many volunteer organizations. The high school
publishes a biweekly Bulletin, and, beginning in 2008-2009, a yearbook. High school students are
given numerous opportunities to teach and lead the grade school students. Lumen Christi
Catholic High School students participate in a service program, and all students attend daily mass.
